Seriously, Senior?

Mouth Breathers

Hello everyone! Welcome back to school and more importantly, welcome back to another issue of The Sentry! You all aren’t going to believe the news that I have! I am finally back in Denver (Hold for applause). Yes, I know how dearly missed I was by no one, thank you, I’ve missed you too. I wasn’t sure when I was go ing to be back, but here I am. Now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves because I’ve got a bone to pick with you, Colorado.
Where the hell are yall’s masks at???? Swear to God its like laying Where’s Waldo. (Dramatic but, certainly how it feels.)

It was like a culture shock coming back from Hawaii, because it’s still required for everyone to wear a mask, no matter what. Believe it or not, no one has an issue with that. Everyone kind of understands and has a greater sense of community than the mainland ever will. Y’all make me sad, man.I mean, even service workers are choosing not to wear them? I don’t understand, and it’s so unfortunate because I don’t like feeling unsafe somewhere that’s supposed to be my home. It’s too easy to put it on, and to keep it on so that way people stay safe. If you choose not to wear your mask, you’re selfish. That’s it. No argument about it. We could get into the common sense part of it all, but then we would be here all day. Ultimately, wear your damn mask and stop complaining about having you wear one. You all sound like a bunch of grown-ass children.

Regardless of all the mouth-breathers (as my mom would call them) I’m still really excited about this semester because… I finally got my desk in
The Sentry office! I am currently sitting with a smile on my face
because hey, here I am, doing exactly what I love. I couldn’t ask for more. I’m genuinely so excited about what we have in store this year. We’re going to make some amazing improvements and I hope that more will people come along to learn about our little family at T345! By the way, we’re hiring! If you’re at all interested in being a writer, photographer, illustrator, or copyeditor, please reach out to the Editor-In-Chief John or apply on Handshake, just type “The Sentry” into the search bar. If you’re interested in checking out a pitch meeting, we have them every Thursday from 6:30 p.m.–8:00 p.m. in T345! Come on down and say hello!
