List of fun home activities to do over spring break
With the recent developments of Covid-19, it might be difficult to find activities to do for spring break that keep the spread of the virus contained. Most restaurants and other places where large groups of people gather, such as museums, will be closed during the break. Here are a few things that can be done at home during this time.
Have a karaoke night
Singing along with a group a friends is a great way to relieve any stress that can come along with stressful life situations, such as having to self-quarantine. There are several Mac and PC apps, like KJams, that can be used to set up a karaoke session. If that’s too fancy, lyric videos on YouTube also work just as well.
Start a journal
It’s highly likely that a lot of people will be spending spring break from inside their homes. Now is the perfect time to sit down with a notebook and document each day as it happens. Journaling is a great way to relieve stress and get organized, especially in these hectic times. There are many types of journaling out there; it’s just about finding the right one.
Play video games
There are a lot of new games coming out around spring break, few honorable mentions being Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Doom: Eternal. If there has ever been a time to start a fresh new video game adventure, it’s now. There are also many party games that are still available, such as Mario Kart and Just Dance. Use these to host a game night with friends.
Host a potluck
Having to stay indoors can get lonely. Inviting a few pals over for a potluck and movie night is a great way to stay connected with people and to pass time over break.Give the potluck a theme in order to make it extra special and exciting.
Take a Masterclass
Taking a Masterclass is the only item on this list that costs money. This website offers thousands of lessons taught by well-known professionals in their field. Ever wanted to learn how to make pasta with Gordan Ramsey? Look no further. Masterclass has exactly that. There are also classes taught by Jane Goodall, Stephen Curry, and Natalie Portman. Masterclass starts at $15 a month, which is relatively affordable. This is a great way to learn a new craft or develop skills in something familiar.
Having to stay indoors can not only get stressful and maybe even a little annoying, but there are still plenty of great activities that can be done from the comfort of homme—making break as fun as it should be. It’s much better to stay home and stay safe as a way to keep those around you out of danger as well.
