Lupe Fiasco | Hey Lupe | Single Review

Atlantic Records
Rating: Thumbs Up
A song that is angsty and full of hype, Lupe Fiasco’s “Hey Lupe” finally released to streaming services 15 years after its creation back in 2006. Sounding similarly to SoundCloud rapper Pouya, Fiasco’s raspy voice flows fluently with the upbeat tempo of synth and bass, creating an energetic atmosphere. The lyrical genius shows strength in the track with the chorus reaching high capacity when he raps: “With the F to the I to the A S C O / FIASCO, hey / Where ya goin?” Lupe Fiasco hasn’t been seen in the headlines since 2018 with his last album release, but with “Hey Lupe,” it sounds like he’s ready for a comeback.
