Harry Styles is back with a brand-new single, “Lights Up.” It’s a great track that effortlessly combines the beachy, string-centric style reminiscent of bands like The Neighbourhood, and the whimsical, avant-garde artistry of Styles himself. Elements of gospel, classic acoustics, and light drum loops are also present, rounding out the track nicely. Styles seems to be showcasing a new era of his musical talent, and a new era of who he is as an individual. The music video for the single is alluring and beautifully strange, and most notably, nothing that the public has seen from Styles before. The new era of Harry Styles is definitely a welcome one if “Lights Up” is anything to go by.
