Chewy & Bach | Poison | Single Review
By Alec Witthohn
Record label: Unsigned
Chewy & Bach’s new single “Potion” features vocalist Tucker Riley amidst a haunting mix of electronic and acoustic sounds with lyrics that speak about coping mechanisms. “I feel like everyone in the world is gonna go through some shit and everyone has a way of dealing with that whether that’s drinking, gambling, whatever; everyone has their potion,” explained Riley in an interview. Beyond the words, the music grips listeners with an array of electronic drops that fall into soulful solos by guitarist Justin Long and Joshua Lopez on electric violin. “Potion” is exemplary of how these musicians break outside the box from a typical Colorado jam band and bring an extra helping of energy to their music.
