Ryan Adams | Back in your head: Single Review

Ryan Adams recently released a new cover of the Tegan and Sara song “Back In Your Head” on Oct. 3. To commemorate the Twins’ 10-year anniversary of their breakthrough album, The Con, the Quinn Twins are putting together The Con X:

Covers. The cover album includes artists such as: CHVRCHES, Bleached, and Mykki Blanco, who will all cover Tegan and Sara’s greatest hits. Adams has taken a once upbeat and acoustic melody and given it his own rock ‘n’ roll-inspired revamp. This track demonstrates Adams’ ability to orchestrate a piece from one genre and give it a makeover into a new and unique track.

This song begins with an attention-grabbing guitar riff that instantly captivates listeners. All throughout the track, Adams’ punchy vocals accompany a strong multidimensional beat. The cover is a contrast to Adams’ popular, more acoustic songs, but fans of classic 80’s rock anthems—a frequent inspiration to Adams—as well as Tegan and Sara will likely enjoy this new cover.
