As we pull into the final stretch of the Spring semester, the time to elect new representatives from the student body has come again!

Throughout this week, students have the opportunity to attend events or polling stations to vote. Student representation on this campus leads to legitimate change toward the betterment of student life. However, the best representation requires an informed voting population to knowingly elect the best candidates for anything to begin properly. Because of this, it is our current goal to make sure that every student on campus knows about elections.

To make this goal happen, we need people telling friends about who is running and what they stand for. Speak with classmates about the ballot and candidates. Don’t be afraid to speak with others and foster a community of knowledge around issues that face students on campus.

Voting stations will be available every day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Tivoli Garage Lounge. On Wednesday, there will be an event at North classroom from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Finally, on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be another tabling event outside the Student Wellness Center in its courtyard and again later that night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Campus Village lobby.

Please read candidate platforms in the ballot and if you have the opportunity, swing by the CU Denver Student Government Association (SGA) office in Tivoli #301 to talk about platforms and initiatives with both candidates and current members. This time of the semester is one that promises major changes to the ways in which business is conducted at this University. To ensure that these changes are to your benefit as a student, it is imperative that you participate in these elections in a meaningful way. Find time this week to read up on candidates and cast the vote you trust the most.
