The computer-generated, glitched, and well-established visual identity of The Presets is renewed in an optically dense music video for “14U+14ME.” Abstract and undulating 3-D forms move in time with a mix-match of acute—and literal—displays of human emotion, while extreme fields of bright, oscillating colors bring each bass drop to life. As if documenting mood swings in the human experience after ingesting an LSD-stuffed, magic mushroom drizzled with a peyote reduction, the visuals veer into a realm of defective, animated psychedelics, an aesthetic not unknown to The Presets. It can only be hoped that the intensity will not be just a “one for me,” but a one for many with their upcoming album.
