Off Book is a new, refreshing podcast

IMPROV PODCAST KEEPS LISTENERS ENTERTAINED

Off Book: The Improvised Musical debuted on July 25. The podcast is hosted by Zach Reino and Jessica McKenna. Reino and McKenna have been fan favorites when featured on other comedy podcasts such as Comedy Bang! Bang! and Hard Nation.

Every week, Reino and McKenna have a guest on the show (usually a comedian or an improvisor), and they often discuss a childhood experience or an embarrassing story. They then use what they talked about in the opening discussion in the musical, as sort of a twist on a regular improv show. The entire podcast is completely improvised and nothing short of hilarious.

Reino and McKenna also have a live pianist, Scott Passarella, in the room while they record. He plays the music in the background and somehow manages to be perfectly in sync with McKenna and Reino. The podcast also features guests like Paul F. Tompkins, Mary Holland, and Paul Scheer.

What makes Off Book unique is that, in addition to being fully improvised, it is the only musical podcast on the market. Its unique nature may be due to how difficult it must be to create a fully improvised musical podcast each week but, Reino and McKenna’s comedic skills and their talented guests make the production of their podcast seem easy.

Off Book has experienced rapidly growing popularity. Its popularity can be credited to its unique nature and humor. The chemistry between Reino and McKenna is electric, and makes for perfect harmony. It is non stop fun and hilarity that will leave any podcast novice or podcast lover happy and smiling.
