On Aug. 23, the 24-year-old Brit Archy Marshall, known as King Krule, released his killer single, “Czech One.” The single is a very deep and dark poetic track with heartbreaking emotion.

Marshall’s low voice, along with the long lasting beats, is what really makes the listener feel the artist’s emotion. Marshall’s deep, drawling vocals and jazz oriented synths and keys flow effortlessly throughout the song. The instrumentals never offer a sense of finality, which allows the listener to become fully entranced by the song. Marshall’s poeticism strikes as he sings a lyrical series of unanswered questions to a past lover, with which he describes himself as a dark “loverboy” who was in too deep and left in a “sea of darkness.” Marshall did an astounding job produc- ing this dark emotive single to help his audience get through a tough heartbreak or revisit the nostalgia of deep emotions.
