CAM JAM returns to campus for 8th annual fest

The University of Colorado Denver College of Arts & Media (CAM) and CU Denver Live! will host the eighth-annual CAM JAM music festival on Auraria Campus on April 27 at the Tivoli Commons Stage.

Operating as a free and open event to the public, this year’s installment will feature six local acts both near and dear to the CU Denver community.

The seventh installment of the festival—which took place last April—had to make a last-second location change due to plummeting temperatures and intense precipitation. The event relocated to the Tivoli and persevered to bring a high octane show on a frigid afternoon. The headlining set from former CU Denver student Donnie Miller—who performs under the name Decadon—set the bar high for the upcoming CAM tradition.

This year’s lineup is divergent, and a true-to-form staple of what CAM talent’s are capable of delivering. Check out the Sentry’s round along with set times for this year’s event.

Two Faces West—a group founded in Gunnison Colo.—established a tight electric rock and blues sound that has lead it to popularity across the Rocky Mountain region.

Chloe Tang’s music is no stranger to CU Denver. With high energy tracks and an engaging live show, her show is set to continue to make waves in the Front Range and beyond.

The Burroughs stylized blend of “sweaty soul music” will bring a hip-swinging polished horn and powerhouse rhythm section to the Tivoli Commons.

CAM Record’s current artist, Avenhart, is a saturated fuse of powerful harmonies and honest lyrics. With a new EP under their belt, they’re ready to set a calming powerful impression on the festival billing.

Combining ukulele, expressive beat-boxing, and piano, CAM Record’s alumni The Milk Blossoms bring an eclectic experimental vibe to the lineup.

Closing out the afternoon is electronic hip-hop group OptycNerd. With master-level skills in partying, OptycNerd is going to close out this year’s CAM JAM with a satisfying explosion of pop music perfection.
