Older now // Artificial Island Records
888, the critically and nationally acclaimed alt-rock band right out of Denver, has released their new single “Older Now.” This track is the first song released from their much-anticipated EP, which is set to drop later in 2017.
“Older Now” starts off with an intriguingly distant chord followed by a muffled drum track, which sets the precedent for the harder-hitting chorus. Frontman Danny Stillman’s voice possesses the trademark eclectic alt-rock yell a la Cage the Elephant. This voice, coupled with a brilliantly steady and clap-heavy beat, makes this a new track akin to old alt standards.
“Older Now” seems to be establishing the foundation for a massive year for 888 in 2017.
