Classic covers of holiday tunes adds a sense of overwhelming joy to every car’s playlist.

The Sentry wanted to take a deep dive to find the greatest songs that added a modern twist on the classic Christmas spirit: Now that Thanksgiving has officially ended, it is time for mainstream America to fully embrace the Christmas spirit.

“8 Days of Christmas” by Destiny’s Child

The song will throw anyone back to the deep throes of Beyonce’s sultry vibe in the early 2000’s. It’s a club banger song overlapped with the innocence of a child song—and of course Queen B needed to make an appearance.

“All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey

How can anyone disregard this as their favorite Xmas jam? Come on, it’s Mariah. Her voice hits several melodic high notes and the tempo is upbeat making it a perfect workout song during the “fat” time of the year.

“White Christmas” by Bob Marley & The Wailers

The Rastaman’s voice adds a flavorful paradise spin on the classic song. The song transports the listener to a Jamaican beach.

“Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” by Bruce Springsteen

“The Boss” absolutely annihilates this classic song, in a good way. His rugged, gritty voice nails every note, and his monologue at the beginning shows his sense of Dad-humor. It’s perfect.
